Edmund

Hello everybody! My name is Edmund and I’m becoming something of a veteran of
Buendia because this is my fourth year here! What pulls me back every year? Aside
from having a great team of monitors and teachers, it is the kids who really make this
camp special. They have wonderful personalities,impressive levels of English and
incredible motivation that keeps them going from sunrise to sunset. Today was Pirate
Day (yaaarr!) so we strapped on our peg legs, pulled down our eye patches and
dedicated it to a fun morning of games and activities. Each class created a super cool
treasure island craft and designed their own pirate costume. After the break they did a
gymkana and had to complete a series of tricky challenges. These included crossing a
dangerous swamp, avoiding exploding bombs, escaping a terrifying kraken as well
as many others. Jeff’s class were the winners after completing all the challenges almost
perfectly, well done!

Our first week at Buendia is almost finished (doesn’t time fly by?) and I will be sad to
see many faces leave. But with those campers who are staying, I’m looking forward
to another two weeks of running, laughing, chatting and (ahem) sometimes a little bit o
f grammar too!
