Hi guys,
Claire here! I hope you have all had a great Friday. We sure have! Not even 40 degree heat can put an end the non-stop action of camp!
This is my second year working as a teacher in Buendia, and I have to say I was super excited to return. It has been fantastic so see so many familiar faces (but a little bit taller).
I don´t know if it´s possible but I think we have just as much fun as the kids (although we tire long before they do!) That´s just one of the reasons Buendia is such a special place and keeps so many teachers coming back year after year.
Today is day five for myself and the other teachers and students that arrived on Monday so we have all well and truly settled into the rhythm of camp life. The campers have been doing some great work in English class this week. Today, in my class, the kids worked in groups to create some amazing posters about three different English speaking countries - Ireland, the United Kingdom, and Australia. Despite my bias towards Australia (I´m from Sydney myself) it was difficult to choose the best one. The walls of the other classrooms are also starting to fill up with colourful and eye-catching posters, collages, pictures and other amazing projects. Of course, we still get the grammar done as well!
Besides English class, we have been all been working hard on our theatre plays. It´s great to see everyone being so creative and working together, helping one other to create a something completely from scratch. I can´t wait to see how they all turn out! Tomorrow everyone gets a break from English class for the annual Buendia Summer Olympics which promises to be a really fun day.
Enjoy your weekends everyone!
